Plain answers for your committee
How a society gets set up, how people sign in and join, what happens to dues and data, and what OGSetu costs. If your question isn't here, ask us.
Getting started
OGSetu is one app for a housing society’s gate, dues, notices and decisions. Residents, the committee, security guards and the accountant all use it, and each role sees its own view of the same records.
We set it up with you; there is no self-serve sign-up for societies. After a demo, the OGSetu team creates your society and gives your first admin access through their Qviple username, with a one-time claim code as a fallback. Your admin then adds towers, wings and flats, charge heads, gates and amenities, and shares the society join code with residents.
Yes. Your admin pastes a list of flat numbers, optionally with carpet area (for example “101, 102:650, 103”), up to 1,000 flats at a time. Towers and wings are added one by one. There is no spreadsheet upload and no resident import: residents join with your society code.
Yes. Book a demo and we will walk your committee through the app on a sample society, role by role. There is no public trial or guest mode.
Society admin and committee, accountant, security guard, and residents (owners, tenants and family members). Admins give committee, accountant and guard roles to members. One person can hold several roles and switch between them in the app.
Signing in and joining
Qviple is the account OGSetu uses for sign-in, and the same login works across Qviple apps. If you don’t have one, create a free account in the Qviple app, then sign in to OGSetu with your username or phone number and password, or with a six-digit OTP sent to your Indian mobile number. OGSetu has no separate password of its own.
Your admin copies the society’s join code from their dashboard and shares it. A resident signs in, enters the code and, optionally, their flat, and the admin approves the request as owner-occupier, non-resident owner, tenant or family.
When we set up your society, or when your admin invites a flat owner, the invite is made to a Qviple username and the role is granted automatically when that account signs in. If that doesn’t happen, the person enters a one-time claim code from their handover card instead. Claim codes work once and expire after 30 days.
Anyone can create a Qviple account, but that alone doesn’t open a society. A person gets into a society only by joining with its code and being approved, or through an invite from the society or the OGSetu team.
Dues and payments
Online payment through PhonePe, including UPI, is built into the app and is being switched on society by society. Until it is on for your society, the accountant records payments made by cash, cheque, NEFT or UPI transfer, and every payment gets a PDF receipt.
The accountant runs a billing cycle that creates an invoice for every flat. Charges can be fixed, per flat, per square foot of carpet area or per occupant, with proration. A cycle can also be generated automatically each month on a day you choose. Residents get an in-app and push notification and can download the PDF invoice.
Overdue invoices are marked every day. Late-fee rules (grace days, rate and cap) are set once and applied when the accountant runs them. Residents can opt in to a weekly email about overdue dues. There are no SMS or WhatsApp reminders.
A resident or admin raises a refund request in the app, and an admin approves, rejects or completes it. Online payments are refunded through PhonePe; payments recorded offline are settled by the society directly. Our refund policy explains the details.
Yes, as CSV or PDF. Reports include the collection summary, dues aging, trial balance, payment register and expense register, alongside visitor, complaint, amenity and staff-attendance reports.
Privacy and your data
People in your society, according to their role, and every action is checked on the server. Residents see their own flat’s dues and visitors; the committee and accountant see society finances; guards see what they need at the gate. Poll votes are visible to the society’s managers, so polls are not anonymous.
Yes. Account → “Export my data” downloads a file with your profile, flats, family, dues, complaints, visitor entries and emergency contacts. Deleting your account (with two confirmations) removes your account, profile and memberships; payment and society records are kept in anonymised form for the society’s accounts. Your Qviple account is not affected, and the only admin of a society must hand over the role first.
There is no single full-society export. Committees and accountants export their records through the CSV and PDF reports, and each member can export their own data.
OGSetu’s database and files run on Convex, and push notifications go through Google Firebase. These providers may store data on servers outside India. Our privacy policy lists every service we use and what each one receives.
Everyday use
English, Hindi and Marathi: every society screen is translated into each. Every person picks their own language, so a guard can use Marathi while the treasurer uses English. The Social tab comes from Qviple and isn’t covered by this. No other languages are available yet.
OGSetu is built for Android, iOS and the web, but it is not listed on Google Play or the App Store yet. We set up access for each society during onboarding.
A resident creates a time-bound pass and shares its QR code and six-digit code from their phone; the guard scans or types it at the gate. For a walk-in, the guard registers the visitor with a photo and the resident approves or denies it in the app. Gate entries keep working on a patchy network and sync when it returns.
The member picks medical, fire, security or other, optionally with their location. On-duty guards, the committee, society admins and the society’s SOS contacts get an alert, with a push notification that ignores quiet hours, and can acknowledge and resolve it. SOS does not replace calling 112.
Yes. Managers set booking windows, capacity, how far ahead people can book and, optionally, a rule that blocks bookings while dues are pending. Bookings are confirmed instantly, and any fee is added to the flat’s invoice.
Pricing and support
Pricing is per society. Tell us about yours on a demo call and we will share a quote.
No. Every module is available to every society; what each person can do depends on their role, not on a plan.
